About David

I'm David Youngblood, a small-town kid who learned early in life the value of hard work and the lesson that nothing is given to you; you have to earn it. I grew up on a horse ranch, where I discovered my love for riding horses at a young age. This passion for hard work and athleticism became ingrained in my character throughout my childhood.

From playing baseball in little league all the way through high school to participating in football, track, javelin, and even a year of cross country, being active and competitive was in my blood from day one. My parents recognized my determination and signed a work release for me at the age of 15, allowing me to work and use the money I earned to fulfill my dream of owning my first horse.

She was a 2-year-old quarter horse paint filly, and together, we embarked on a journey of trust, commitment, and mutual understanding. I broke her to ride myself, and as we learned together, we built an unbreakable bond. She had to trust that I would lead her in the right direction and care for her, just as I trusted her to respond to my cues.

My passion for rodeo eventually led my brother and me to compete in different events during our high school years. He rode bulls, and I tackled the challenge of bareback broncs.

One unforgettable summer, my brother and I, along with two friends, traveled across Montana, competing in various rodeos with the money we earned from our summer jobs with the forest service. It was a summer filled with adventure, camaraderie, and some of the best memories of my life.

In high school, I married my high school sweetheart, and at the age of 19, we welcomed our first child into the world. I pursued a degree in CADT (Computer Aided Drafting Technology) while working night shifts at a Hewlett Packard Plant doing Surface Mounted Soldering. Trying to balance it all, life threw its first major test at me—a near-fatal car accident with a logging truck. I was code blue, without a heartbeat or breath, but I miraculously survived.

It took me years to realize that this accident was a turning point in my life, a sign of a higher purpose. It wasn't until my 40s that I understood my calling—to share my story of overcoming adversity, failure, struggle, and loss. These experiences shaped me, building my confidence, helping me embrace my true self, and guiding me toward a purpose-driven life.

I graduated from college in 1998 and have worked in the structural engineering industry as a Building Information Modeler since. However, adversity resurfaced during the recession of 2008 when I was laid off. I had to make a tough decision for my family's future. A friend connected me with a firm in Seattle, WA, and I moved there, with my wife and daughter following later.

In 2008, my wife and I faced another challenging decision—divorce. It was a painful and difficult time in my life, as everything I held dear seemed to be slipping away. In hindsight, I realized that we had married at a young age and had grown in different directions. Today, we remain close friends, always putting our daughter's well-being first.

Through all these trials and triumphs, I've discovered that adversity can be a powerful catalyst for personal growth and transformation. My mission now is to share my experiences and inspire others to find confidence, embrace their true selves, and live purpose-driven lives, no matter what challenges they face.

Thank you for joining me on this journey of resilience, growth, and inspiration.
